This week Cheri Lucas Rowlands asks us to share a picture through our eyes observing the scene first and looking for natural lines and frames by trying the skill Ming Thein talks about in this week’s Photography 101 post.

I’m not under any illusion that I have that skill, but I do appreciate the tips offered by Ming to help us improve our photography, so here are my attempts.

Cheri Lucas Rowlands asks us to share a photo of a fleeting moment for this week’s challenge. It can be a quiet, precious moment like a hummingbird in the backyard or it can be something else like a glimpse into a rare occasion.

I photographed this peaceful piece of art at Kapìolani Community College. The trio of stacked stones or pohaku was created as a symbol of direction to inspire, guide, and embody the spirit of Hawaii or the aloha spirit.

Weekly Photo Challenge: The Sign Says or “Sign Sign Everywhere a Sign” 7

Yes, I am a seventies child and now I can’t get that tune out of my head. That is why I am sharing a photo that depicts everywhere a sign and that also depicts the favorite place to buy malasadas if you live on Oahu.

Everyone's favorite Malasadas and I love the sign that I cut off about please don't park at 909 Kapahulu since this was exactly where I was when I took the picture. Don't worry, I did not leave my car and I wasn't there long.

I wrote about Leonard’s previously. The owner is also a sweet man who came out of retirement to personally bake a dobash cake for my birthday last year, thus destroying my diet, but bringing a smile to my face. I am grateful to him.
