Today I am grateful for Katherine who shared this wonderful photo of her Merjiro, aka Japanese White-eye, with me and gave me permission to use it. The white around his eye gives him his name and makes him unique like many people.

Thank you to those of you who take the time to get to know and truly work to understand and accept children and adults with differences.  The support you give is greatly appreciated.  Hopefully in the future others will follow your example.  Blessings to all of you for all you do!  God willing hopefully one day in the future we will see an end to bullying of all types.    

There have always been people with differences and without them we would not have music, movies, books, cell phones, laptops, iPads, iPods, or so many other delightful things most of us enjoy.  The next time you meet someone who appears unconventional please take the time to see what wonderful insights that unique person has to offer.

    Such a darling little bird – I wish he would come visit my little garden 😀 I’ve never seen one like him before.

    How true that there have always been people with differences – and I believe we should celebrate these differences rather than be shocked by them.

    Hey, not sure if this fits in properly with this post, but I just wanted to share this thought with you….with regards to labelling people with differences…(I found it on a blog but can’t remember which one..). Anyways, the author said “If you see a person carrying a bag of carrots, you don’t call them a carrot.”

    I thought it was such a simple and beautiful analogy – that if we see people carrying difficulties and burdens in life, we should not just presume that that is all the person is about…their differences do not define them. I thought it was interesting.

  3. I love you bird picture – bird-watching has been one of my hobbies when I’ve been able to find the time. I also love your appreciation of the value of differences and the gifts that come in many different forms and packages. The world would be much less interesting and enjoyable without many different kinds of birds and people. 🙂

    What a cute little bird! And it’s great that he is looking straight at us.
    Yes, I am grateful for differences and for people who accept differences. The world is more beautiful because of differences and acceptance! And because of the contributions of those who were different enough to see a better approach.

  6. I so agree. Let us all “take the time to get to know and truly work to understand and accept children and adults with differences“. Usually these people with differences and disabilities, as how they may be categorized, live exceptional lives and become the Helen Kellers or the Beethovens of the world.

    I love my British wild birds I thought of this when reading your post. This guy Bill Oddie is lovely…He is actually the double of my Dad, only my Dad has shaved his beard off now. hehe

    Also I was wondering if you have heard the Song of the Black bird, I hear him all the time. This is what he sounds like…I like this video it has all the birds I see in my garden in it.

    I pray that my children will meet many people who see just how remarkable they are!

      Thank you and thanks for sharing the two wonderful videos. I hope the world does change and more people will see our remarkable children for the wonderful individuals they are. I really enjoyed seeing the birds that you get to see in your garden. I had not seen either video.
